Cheers.Redesigned lighting provides 3 zones of 16.8 million beautifully crisp colors that can synchronize with other SteelSeries products. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to ask questions or request information/content that I may have missed or glossed over in the comments below. Other analogues include MM730 series and Fnatic Bolt.Decently flexible, but tends to hold shape.Larger than average sensor ring, which actually protrudes out (although unsure if it makes contact with surface).PTFE, but somewhat rough/slow glide (at least initially. No issues felt/seen in wired or 2.4G modes based on initial testing.Recessed, with only ~20-25% of wheel being above the main clicks. Not ideal for my use, as I am a wrist aimer.Sensor located slightly rear of the mouse’s center (as expected of Steelseries by now).Decent Truemove Air (Pixart PAW3335) implementation.Slightly front heavy weight balance but not really noticeable in play.No accidental actuation while pressing on all sides (at least on my unit).Very faint rattle when shaken violently.Pushing down is considerably stiffer, with zero post-travel, as front and rear tips of paddle button bottom out on M4 and M5 buttons below.Flicking upwards is reasonably light/easy, encountering a touch of post-travel to dampen.Pre-travel (inherent to design) in both directions.Momentary loss of grip whenever using paddle button, as thumb must be released and move a considerable distance to flick up or down.Thumb paddle potentially useful, but too high IMO.Minor pre-travel on front side button, but some post-travel, just enough to prevent a harsh bottom out.Would’ve been more broadly practical and/or widely accessible if equipped/customizable with protruded thumb paddle found on Basilisk V1/V2.Front (silver) button somewhat difficult to reach for me.M5 (back) features quite a bit more pre and post-travel, more than I’d like.M4 (forward) button on my unit exhibits a reasonable and comfortable amount of pre and post-travel.M4 and M5 (forward and back buttons) are easily accessible.Would have preferred the Aerox 9’s tilt wheel over the Aerox 5’s side thumb paddle implementation IMO.Actuations reverberate through the shell.Front button height too tall for my liking/preferences.LMB on my unit slightly lighter and more muted compared to RMB although this is likely due to button design.Prototypical Steelseries comfort grooving on main buttons Although the former is far more versatile/stable.Suited well to both palm and claw (fingertip is out of the question) Touch too big (in terms of all three x, y, and z dimensions) for my 18.5cm x 10.5cm hands.Relatively neutral in the palm, without much of a drastic EC-esque left side slope.Total length 128 - 129mm (including button hang). Slight but comfortable thumb area scoop.Similar design choices as Roccat Kain line. If the reception is good and there is interest in a more thorough review, I might be able to make another post in a couple weeks time with a proper and comprehensive review of my time and experience with the mouse. Hey r/MouseReview, I'm slightly late to the party, but I happened to be one of the lucky few who received a review sample of the new Steelseries Aerox 5 Wireless, which was graciously sent out by Steelseries, so I wanted to share some photos and my first hands-on thoughts/impressions after a couple days of use.įor full disclosure, I received my copy free of charge but have not and will not receive any compensation for my opinions below and/or to come, they remain unbiased and impartial.
